Mr. Ponte is the Ultimate Designated Person (UDP) of the Firm and a Co-Founder and Director of MortEq Lending Corp, Oakhill Lending Corp, and PHL Capital Corp. Mr. Ponte is also the Past President of the BC MIC Managers Association (BCMMA), whose membership includes some of British Columbia’s largest and most reputable Mortgage Investment Corporations and also serves on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Alternative Lenders Association. He is on the Credit Committee for MLC & OLC with over 15 years of combined financing, construction and development experience. Mr. Ponte holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Simon Fraser University with a focus on Finance and Marketing.
Vice President, Operations & Compliance
Sanj Westin[email protected]
Mrs. Westin manages the compliance department at PHL Financial Group Ltd. (PFG). Some of her responsibilities include: supervision of Dealing Representatives, approve/reject all new accounts, review KYC documentation, provide oversight on marketing materials, provide guidance on the Firm’s Know-Your-Product process, communicate all regulatory changes to personnel and investigate any client complaints.
Prior to joining PHL, Mrs. Westin was part of the Audit & Assurance Group at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in Vancouver. Mrs. Westin has obtained her Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. She also holds a Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) from Simon Fraser University with a concentration in Accounting and Entrepreneurship & Innovation. During her undergraduate studies, she served as Vice President of the Young Women in Business (YWiB) organization.
Chief Compliance Officer

Mr. Lindsay is the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and a registered Dealing Representative. As CCO, Mr. Lindsay is responsible for PHL Financial’s compliance with the applicable securities regulations, the Firm’s processes and procedures, and communication with the UDP and Board of Directors. Mr. Lindsay is also a double graduate of the University of Alberta, with Bachelor’s in both Arts and Commerce, while currently attending the University of Calgary to obtain his MBA.

Ravi Munday[email protected]
Mr. Munday is registered as a dealing representative of the Firm and offer clients of PFG an opportunity to invest in MLC & OLC where it is suitable for them to make the investment. Mr. Munday is the Vice President of Investments and has been with the Firm since 2015. He oversees and manages the quarterly share offerings and reports filed in accordance with the British Columbia Securities Commission, communicating with investors with any questions regarding their investment in PFG, and preparing portfolio reporting provided directly to the executive team. He has over 10 years of real estate experience in commercial financing, development and construction. Mr. Munday holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Northern British Columbia with a double-major in Finance and Business Administration.
Karmel Hasel[email protected]
Ms. Hasel is registered as a dealing representative of the Firm and offer clients of PFG an opportunity to invest in MLC & OLC where it is suitable for them to make the investment. She oversees the documentation process to ensure compliance. Ms. Hasel has in-depth knowledge of the mortgage side of the business as she previously managed the mortgage renewal process. She brings extensive experience in event coordination to the company, using her attention to detail and planning skills for the Annual Investor Meeting’s. Ms. Hasel is currently the chair of The Lending A Hand Society charitable fund committee and thinks it is very important to give back to the community. She also volunteers as a Big Sister for the Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland.
Brianna Ahluwalia[email protected]
Ms. Ahluwalia is registered as a dealing representative of the Firm and offer clients of PFG an opportunity to invest in MLC &OLC where it is suitable for them to make the investment. She helps coordinate the execution of essential documents for PFG shareholders. Ms. Ahluwalia comes from a background of retail banking at TD Canada Trust, gaining extensive and valuable knowledge about the finance industry. She also holds a Bachelor’s of Sociology from Simon Fraser University.
